Trekkies occurs as 1997 documentary film directed by Roger Nygard about the devoted fans of Gene Roddenberry's series Star Trek. Starring Denise Crosby, the movie contains interviews with fan of Star Trek, more normally called Trekkies. A fans range from either humans dressed when Klingons to members of Brent Spiner fan clubs to the club working in a Star Trek movie of their own. Trekkies includes several Star Trek actors and fans, including Barbara Adams, the Whitewater scandal trial juror who arrived within court in her Starfleet uniform. An additional large profilee was Gabriel Köerner, who went in to more minor celebrity status. Around 2003, a sequel was launched, entitled Trekkies 2. This documentary travels throughout the world, mainly within Europe, to show fans of Star Trek from outside the United States. It too revisits large profilees from either a last film. A argument that Trekkie is the correct term was addressed by Trekkies director Roger Nygard within the post on the official web-places for the documentary film.
